Centre of Planning, Statistics and Assessment

It is made up of three divisions:

Division of Planning and Strategies
  • It shall undertake the following tasks:
  • Outline ISESCO’s work and strategic priorities, orientations and objectives (education, science and technology, human and social sciences, culture and communication) on the short, medium and long terms so as to ensure compatibility with the orientations of ’SESCO’s General Conference and Executive Council, and Specialized Ministerial Conferences;
  • Ensure consultation, follow-up and coordination with ISESCO directorates and centers in preparing strategic and working documents of the Organization such as medium term strategic plans, three-year action plans and annual schedule;
  • Work together with directorates and centers in preparing sector-specific strategies and their implementation mechanisms to suit the reality and specificities of Member States and Muslim communities outside the Islamic and meet their needs and expectations.
Division of Sector-specific Statistics and Reports
  • It shall undertake the following tasks:
  • Accompany the work of directorates and centers to develop sector-specific control mechanism to ensure systematic and continuous follow-up to the developments in the sectors of education, science and technology, human and social sciences, culture and communication in Member States and at the international level;
  • Identify and analyze the needs, potentials and orientations related to the sectors of education, science and technology, human and social sciences, culture and communication in Member States and on the international level;
  • Prepare periodic analytical and prospective studies; and sector-specific, thematic and specialized reports on the sectors of education, science and technology, human and social sciences, culture and communication in Member States;
  • Collect data and references, and publish reliable statistics relevant to the sectors of education, science and technology, human and social sciences, culture and communication so as to enrich ISESCO’s main themes and strategic priorities, orientations and objectives for the benefit of Member States.
Division of Follow-up and Assessment
  • It shall undertake the following tasks:
  • Follow up to, control and assess the impact of ISESCO’s efforts, activities, projects and achievements for the benefit of Member States in each of its areas of action and competence (education, science and technology, human and social sciences, culture and communication);
  • Prepare periodic surveys for Member States, national commissions, benefiting parties, ISESCO partners and cooperating parties; and prepare periodic reports in light of these surveys to assess ISESCO’s action;
  • Analyze strengths and weaknesses ; assess the activities, projects and achievements implemented by ISESCO for the benefit of Member States; identify difficulties and flaws related to implementation; and suggest necessary modification measures thereto;
  • Strive to achieve the strategic and scientific objectives set by ISESCO to reach the expected outcomes in each of its areas of competence and action (education, science and technology, human and social sciences, culture and communication);
  • Make recommendations to increase effectiveness and enhance the impact and productivity of activities, projects, achievements and their implementation mechanisms for the benefit of Member States in all its areas of competence and action (education, science and technology, human and social sciences, culture and communication);
