ISESCO Director General participates in first session of 7th International Arabic Language Conference
The Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, took part at the first session of the 7th International Arabic Language Conference, being held in Dubai, on 19-21 April 2018, under the high patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai.
This session was dedicated to heads of the organizations participating in the Conference, and moderated by Dr Ali Tamim, Secretary General of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Award. It also saw the participation of the Secretary General of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU); Director General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO); the Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS); and the Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League.
In the same vein, Dr Altwaijri showcased ISESCO’s great efforts in the field of teaching Arabic language for non-Arabic speakers in non-Arab Member States and among Muslim minorities around the world. He further highlighted the key projects implemented in this field such as establishing educational centers and chairs, appointing teachers, granting scholarships, developing curricula and guides, and holding training sessions.
