MoU between ISESCO and International Islamic University, Islamabad signed
Today in Islamabad, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) and the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The MoU was co-signed by Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, ISESCO Director General, the FUIW Secretary General; Prof. Dr Masoom Yasinzai, IIUI Rector; and Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, IIUI President.
The MoU provides for cooperation in developing scientific research in higher education, promoting quality, accreditation, innovation, planning and assessment; enhancing complementarity between higher education and the private sector; linking higher education with sustainable development; exchanging information, studies and visits; promoting values of middle stance, moderation and dialogue; fighting all forms of extremism, sectarianism and terrorism; and disseminating peace culture.
Under the same MoU, the two parties shall co-prepare, translate and publish studies and research works in the fields of mutual interest and share, on a periodical basis, their publications on subjects of mutual interest as well as invitations to participate in conferences, forums, colloquiums and activities on the themes of shared interest.
For the record, the IIUI joined the FUIW in 2000.
