ISESCO announces launching of five grants for scientific research projects for 2018
The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) announces the launching of five grants for scientific research projects for 2018 in the following fields: ICTs, nanotechnology, agricultural biotechnology, engineering sciences, applied sciences and medical plants.
These grants, which are offered by ISESCO Center for Promotion of Scientific Research (ICPSR), are aimed at awarding scientific research projects; reducing the migration of scientific competencies in Member States; boosting the engagement of youth competent researchers in scientific research activities worthy of sponsorship and attention; improving the quality and effectiveness of scientific research; and achieving a better synergy with the industry sector to enable it to be competitive internationally.
The value of each grant is estimated at US$10,000.00 to be provided for a period of two years. The nominees for the grant are required to be a national of one of ISESCO Member States, be less than 40 years old, hold a PhD in one of the fields covered by the five grants, and belong to a public university or a government research institution.
It is worth mentioning that since their launch in 2009, nearly 50 researchers from the three regions of the Islamic world (Arab, Asian and African), with positions at universities or government research institutions, have benefitted from the grants.
