ISESCO Director General participates in King’s activities in old Medina of Fez, Morocco
The Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, and the Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Ms Irina Bokova, took part in the activities chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, today in the old Medina of Fez.
The King’s activities were launched at the library of Al Qarawiyyin University where the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Dr Ahmed Toufiq, gave a presentation on the progress of restoration projects of some Medersas designed for teaching and accommodating students.
On this occasion, His Majesty decorated many officials and craftsmen who have supervised or carried out restoration works which preserved the historical architecture of the Medersas. Then the King toured these Medersas accompanied by ISESCO and UNESCO directors general, his advisors, a number of government members and several high-ranking officials.
