Sudan President receives ISESCO Director General

This evening in Khartoum, the President of the Republic of the Sudan, Field Marshall Omar Hassan Ahmad Al-Bashir, received the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, who is on a visit to the Sudan to participate in the launch of the festivities marking the celebration of Sinnar as the Arab region’s Islamic Culture Capital for 2017.

During this audience, ISESCO Director General expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Sudanese president for the support extended by his country to joint Islamic action and to ISESCO in particular. He also hailed the excellent cooperation relations between ISESCO and the competent parties in the Republic of the Sudan and reaffirmed his keenness to develop them and expand their scope.

On this occasion, Dr Altwaijri presented the President of the Republic with the celebration’s Gold Shield and a set of ISESCO’s latest publications.

For his part, President Al-Bashir hailed the Director General’s efforts in leading ISESCO. He also commended the Organization’s achievements and reaffirmed his country’s continued support to ISESCO so that it can discharge its civilizational mission and serve the Islamic world.

The audience was attended by the Sudanese ministers of Education and Culture, and the Secretary General of the Sudanese National Commission for Education, Science and Culture.
