ISESCO calls for combating Israeli schemes to remove Al-Aqsa Mosque

ISESCO calls for combating Israeli schemes to remove Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) called on Member States and the international community to counter the Israeli criminal schemes aimed at removing Al-Aqsa Mosque. ISESCO, in a communiqué released today, pointed out that the statements of the right-wing extremist member of Knesset (Arieh Eldad) wherein he called for cutting up and moving Al-Aqsa Mosque to build the alleged temple in its place are extremely dangerous and constitute an incitement to commit a terrorist and criminal act.

In addition, ISESCO condemned the decision taken by the municipality of occupied Al Quds whereby Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered as a public place.

In the same vein, ISESCO's communiqué stated that the Israeli occupation authorities have intensified the excavation works beneath and in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque as well as in the neighbourhood areas of Selwan. ISESCO also stressed that these excavations threaten the foundations of al-Aqsa Mosque and constitute an aggression against human heritage which is banned by international law.

Furthermore, ISESCO pointed out that the dangers threatening Al-Aqsa Mosque are increasing in intensity, while calling Member States to move at the international level to denounce the Israeli serious practices against Al-Aqsa Mosque and to protect and defend this holy place.
