ISESCO Director General to hold press conference following destruction of Islamic heritage sites in Timbuktu
Upon destruction, by armed groups occupying northern Mali, of sites of Islamic heritage, including mosques, historical monuments and manuscript stores in Timbuktu, which have been proclaimed world heritage treasures in danger, Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), is holding a press conference at ISESCO permanent headquarters (F.A.R Avenue, Hay Riyadh, Kingdom of Morocco), on 10 July 2012, at 11:00 a.m.
ISESCO Director General will go over ways to protect historical monuments in Timbuktu, which are part of the Muslim and world civilization.
