Pakistani President receives ISESCO Director General

The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr Asif Ali Zardari, this afternoon at the Presidential Palace, received the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri.

During the audience, the Director General presented an overview of ISESCO’s programmes and activities, especially those implemented in Pakistan.

On that occasion, Dr Altwaijri thanked the Pakistani President on his country’s continued support to ISESCO, and paid tribute to the special relations between ISESCO and Pakistani institutions and universities.

The Director General of ISESCO then presented the President with ISESCO Gold Medal, in recognition of Pakistan’s contribution to the promotion of joint Islamic action.

For his part, the Pakistani President expressed his appreciation for the great efforts and achievements made by ISESCO in its fields of competence.

After the audience, President Zardari held a reception dinner in honor of the Director General of ISESCO and the participants in the Vice Chancellors’’ Forum co-organized by ISESCO, COMSATS and the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology in Pakistan.

In an address before the President and the reception attendees, the Director General delivered an address to expressed gratitude to Pakistan for hosting the Forum and ensuring the conditions necessary for its success. President Zardari then delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests of his country, vowing continued support for the various aspects of joint Islamic action.

The reception dinner was attended by the Senate Chairman, the National Assembly Speaker, ministers, senior state officials, and ambassadors of Islamic countries in Islamabad.
