ISESCO to participate in national workshop on manuscripts in Senegalese library
The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will take part in a national workshop on counting manuscripts in Cheikh Moussa Kamara Library, in Ganguel-Soulé, in Senegal, over the period from 12 to16 March 2012. The workshop is aimed at examining the conditions of the library’s manuscripts, discussing means to preserve them, and exploring ways to counter illicit trafficking in tangible cultural heritage. It also has the objective of training the library staff in documentation, indexing and holdings maintenance. Mr Papa Toumané Ndiaye, programmes specialist at the Education and Communication Directorate, will represent ISESCO in this workshop.
