Parental
Education in the Islamic World

|
1- Characteristics and Constituents
It is mostly accepted that every education, regardless of its type or shape, has a certain
amount of constituents and characteristics which would help it fulfil its mission. These
constituents and characteristics rest, most of the time, on bases and principles that govern
them, on objectives and goals that shape them, on determinants and factors that influence
them, and on mechanisms and methods that guide them. If
the parental education practised in Muslim countries does not lie outside this
definition, my concern here is mainly to focus on the analysis of the major principles,
objectives, determinants and methods pertaining to this education.
