7.1.2.5 Cell Targeting of Adenovirus
Adenoviruses are capable of infecting a broad range of cell types. It can infect both
dividing and non-dividing cells. Adenoviral vectors have been successfully administrated to
humans by aerosolization into the lungs. In animal models, successful transduction has been
repeated following intramuscular injection (Stratford – Pericandet, 1992) and
intravenously (Lemarchand, 1992)
