Report shows implementation rate of 80% in 2007: ISESCO Executive Council adopts Director General Report on the Organization's Activities

The Executive Council of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) discussed, at its 29th session opening in Rabat, the report submitted to it by Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri on the activities implemented by ISESCO in 2007.

Praising the distinguished effort of the Director General: Morocco’s Education Minister Addresses the 29th Session of ISESCO Executive Council

Mr. Ahmed Khchichen, Minister of National Education, Higher Education, Staff Training and Scientific Research in the Kingdom of Morocco gave an address at the opening of the 29th session of the Executive Council of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization -ISESCO-, which took place this morning at the permanent headquarters of ISESCO, in the presence of Dr, Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of the Organization, Dr. Abbas Al Jirari, Adviser to his Majesty King of Morocco, and Dr. Boubaker Doukouré, Chairman of the Executive Council, along with members of the diplomatic circle as well as scientific and cultural personalities and media figures.

Dr. Boubakar Doukouré, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization -ISESCO-, and Advisor to the President of the Republic of Burkina Faso, stated that the agenda of the 29th session of ISESCO Executive Council, which started this morning in Rabat, capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, is replete with crucial topics which ought to be meticulously examined and discussed to reach the appropriate decision thereon.

ISESCO Director General at the Kick-off of the Organization's Executive Council: ISESCO's Innovative Achievements Make of it an Islamic Organ with Commanding International Credibility

Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), said that the achievements of the Organizations and the major steps that have been taken to attain progress and renovation, keeping pace with new developments in educational and scientific curricula, helped build the stature of ISESCO as a specialized organ with commanding credibility at the Islamic and international levels. He added that “this huge success we have achieved places considerable responsibilities upon us, and opens up infinite horizons for us to attain the educational, scientific and cultural objectives of our Islamic Ummah and humanity at large.”

Developing the teaching of Arabic in South Africa

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the Granada Institution for Publishing and Educational Services, in coordination with the International Peace University of South Africa, will hold a training session to modernize the methods of teaching Arabic as a foreign language. The session will be hosted by the International Peace University of South Africa, based in Cape Town, from 7 to 11 July.

Tunisian President Awards the Insignia of the Order of the Cultural Merit to the Director of ISESCO External Relations and Cooperation

The Tunisian President, Mr Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali, awarded the Insignia of the Order of the Cultural Merit to Mr Mohamed Ghemari, the Director of External Relations and Cooperation at ISESCO, in recognition of his outstanding contribution and efforts within his field of action at ISESCO.

Secretaries General of the National Commissions for Education, Science and Culture meet at ISESCO: Fostering cooperation between ISESCO and the Member States toward expanding joint Islamic action

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) hosted today morning the opening of the 3rd Meeting of the Secretaries General of the National Commissions for Education, Science and Culture and the Officials in Charge of the Competent Authorities in its fifty Member States.

Held in Rabat with the participation of the representatives of 50 countries: ISESCO Executive Council examines the Draft broad lines of the Three-Year Action Plan and Budget (2010-2012)

The Executive Council of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization –ISESCO- will hold its 29th session at the Organization’s permanent headquarters, over the period of 2-5 July. The current session will be preceded by the convening of the third meeting of the Secretaries General of the National Commissions for Education, Science and Culture and the Officials in Charge of the Competent Parties in Member States.
