IIUM Deputy Rector visits ISESCO and grants University’s Award to Director General

The Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, today in his office, received Dr Abdelaziz Berghout, Deputy Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), who is on a working visit to ISESCO and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) to discuss with the respective officials the implementation details of various joint academic projects.

As part of this visit, Dr Berghout conferred on the Director General the IIUM’s Lifetime Outstanding Achievement Award, which rewards outstanding personalities and leaders with pioneering contributions to educational, scientific and cultural fields.

It is worth mentioning that this Award had been granted to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, in 2007 and to the Director General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Dr José Graziano da Silva, in 2015.
