ISESCO Diretor General deplores Russia’s dogged complicity in aggravating the Syrian people’s tragic plight

The Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, deplored Russia’s dogged complicity with Al-Assad regime and other foreign powers in the heinous crimes being committed against the Syrian people and in the ongoing devastation of the Syrian cities under the cloak of fighting terrorism.

Dr Altwaijri casted as war crimes and crimes against humanity the violent airstrikes being carried out against civilians in Aleppo, Idlib, and other Syrian cities, killing hundreds of children, men and women, and destroying civil facilities, including mosques, schools and hospitals, along with the use of internationally banned weapons, and called for an end to such atrocities and for suing their perpetrators under the relevant international laws.

In this connection, ISESCO Director General called on the UN Security Council to assume its legal and ethical responsibility to protect and save the Syrian people from the horrors of this devastating war.
